Medical Insurance

Coverage for newcomer students

All international students in British Columbia are required to have valid medical insurance. You will need private coverage during your first 90 days before becoming eligible for provincial plans.

First 90 days · Private insurance

Before you become eligible for BC's provincial plan, you need private coverage. GuardMe is one of the local providers MCC students commonly use.

After 90 days · BC MSP

The BC Medical Service Plan provides essential medical coverage to residents — including international students staying longer than 6 months. Premium is approximately CAD 75 / month.
